Η γνωστότερη παραλία της Σκιάθου και μία από τις γνωστότερες παραλίες της Ευρώπης. Είναι γνωστή και με το όνομα Χρυσή Άμμος, αφού η άμμος της είναι πολύ λεπτή και λάμπει ολόχρυση κάτω από τον καλοκαιρινό ήλιο. Εκτός από τα καταγάλανα, πεντακάθαρα νερά της, η παραλία αυτή προσφέρει μοναδική ευκαιρία για ξεκούραση και απόλαυση, αφού το πασίγνωστο δάσος των Κουκουναριών σταματάει λίγα μέτρα από τη θάλασσα.

General information about Skiathos island

The island has a northeastern to southwestern direction and is about 12 km long and 6 km wide on average. The coastline is indented with up to 65 sandy beaches, inlets, capes and peninsulas. The southeast and southwest parts have gentler slopes and that is where most of the sandy beaches, settlements and facilities are located. The terrain is hilly but more rugged on the north coast, with the highest peak at 433 m. There is a communications tower on this peak.

STUDIOS HELLEN IN MEGALI AMMOS

Megali Ammos are located only 500m from Skiathos Town and it is among the most popular beaches of Skiathos island. Due to its location, it needs only a short bus ride to get to the beach from the main town or 5 mins by walk. The name of the beach means “large sand”. Indeed the coast has golden soft sand and the water is crystal. It is organized with sun beds, umbrellas, cafeterias and delicious taverns. There are also water sports centers along the beach to offer you a fun day in the sun.
